How to Get More Veggies from Your Garden →
chelseajmartin: Tips for Using Garden Space Efficiently 1. Interplant Compatible Crops This can be as simple as sowing some mesclun when you plant your tomato transplants. By the time the tomato plants are filling the space, you’ll have gotten several mesclun harvests from the bed already. You could also plant herbs, such as basil and oregano, near your tomatoes, and make better use of your...

2011 garden planning
I haven’t posted here for a few months, but it’s that time of year again.  Time to get in the garden! Last year we got a late start due to our wedding and honeymoon, so all we grew were tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and pumpkin (which failed). gratification.
We’ve (finally) had some rain and I went to look on the garden this morning.  Things are looking green and perky and GOOD.  Should have some red tomatoes and maybe some squash by the weekend. It is so incredible to see something you planted and tended and cared for turn into something you can eat.  Really, there is nothing more gratifying than seeing your hard work pay off.  i love it :)
